Fascial Flow Method™ can be done at home in just 8 minutes a day (and delivers powerful results even when done just a few times per week). This full body method of self-care is highly customizable...for everyone from those with an intense history of trauma to high performers looking to level up. Results can be enriched by working with an FFM Facilitator (hands-off) and/or FFM Bodyworker (hands-on).
Fascial Flow Method™ combines the revolutionary science of fascia, biotensegrity, and the neuroscience of chronic stress + resilience through a clinical lens to provide simple, efficient, and highly effective strategies to support the body's innate ability to heal (without spending hours a day on self-care and countless appointments with providers).
All Fascial Flow Method™ techniques and sequences grew out of Dr. Satya Sardonicus' deeply personal experience with trauma (as a patient) combined with over a decade of clinical work and academic study in: chiropractic, neurosensory integration, Luigi jazz dance, craniosacral, structural integration, hatha yoga and meditation, reiki, and neuroimmunology.
How Fascial Flow Method Works
The Fascial Flow Method™ Core Sequence is an 8 minute series of simple exercises that activate a quick + powerful downshift out of fight-or-flight mode in the brain. When done on a regular basis, these exercises improve the brain's ability to handle stress of all kinds (so you don't get triggered into fight-or-flight mode so easily in the first place).
Each exercise takes less than a minute, and can be used alone or in custom sequences to quickly downshift from chaos to calm when you're feeling overwhelmed, to prime the nervous system in preparation for intensely cognitive or emotionally demanding situations, or to unwind at the end of a long day.
The basis for Fascial Flow Method™ is rooted in the neuroscience of movement. The brain requires three things to survive and thrive:
glucose (you need to eat)
oxygen (you need to breathe)
proprioception (you need to move)
Proprioceptive signals are the special nerve signals that activate the brain when you move. These receptors are embedded in all joints and throughout the body-wide fascial network. Recent science has proposed that movement is so crucial for healthy brain activation that exercise may be more important for brain function than for heart health or musculoskeletal health (not that those aren't important, too!). This is why we've seen studies showing exercise fighting depression, and why kids at schools with gym class perform higher on standardized tests than at schools where physical education has been removed from the program.
But for exercise to activate the brain properly, all joints and fascia must be able to move smoothly and fluidly. Any stuck or abnormally moving places will starve the brain of normal proprioceptive signals that would be coming from that area...and they even send extra alarm signals which escalate the brain's stress response. So even if you (miraculously) had no other stress in your life, these sticky places would mechanically activate the stress response 24 hours a day.
Most exercise and body-based therapies are focused on structural outcomes. Most stress-management techniques are focused on either reducing stress or dealing with the fallout once your cup "overflows". Instead, Fascial Flow Method™ works to empty the cup quickly AND build you a bigger cup.
The Fascial Flow Method™ is all about neuro-fascial integration: when the body can move fluidly through all parts, healthy signals downregulate the stress response (no matter its original source). The FFM Core Sequence also allows individuals to self-assess for bracing tension or other restrictions to fluid movement. From here, results may be amplified with Fascial Flow Method™ Energetic + Fascial Release techniques.
